Welcome to the Curriculum Course Information Page! Here you will find information about and links to course information.

New Course Development

The process:

  1. Faculty requests to develop new course by sending email to curriculumservices@westerntc.edu
  2. Faculty is assigned the role of developer in WIDS
  3. Course is created by curriculum services in WIDS
  4. Faculty is sent an email that notifies them they have been assigned a curriculum coach and that the course is in WIP and ready to be worked on.  Quality Course Outcome Summary Checklist is sent with as a guide.
  5. Faculty works on course – when ready for review they send email to curriculum coach with completed Quality Course Outcome Summary Checklist.
  6. Reviewer comments on the course and sends email back to faculty – either ready to go or needs some changes.
  7. If needs changes, faculty makes and sends back to curriculum coach
  8. If course is ready – curriculum coach sends an email to curriculumservices@westerntc.edu stating it is done

Course Revision

During the course revision, Instructors continue to use the existing course.

The process:

  1. Faculty (Developer) requests course they want to be worked on gets put into WIP (work in process)
  2. Request is sent to Curriculum Services email (curriculumservices@westerntc.edu)
  3. Curriculum services assigns a curriculum coach and emails that information to faculty along with the Quality Course Outcome Summary Checklist
  4. Faculty (Developer) revises course data or components and emails curriculum coach working with them when it is ready to be reviewed.  They send Quality Course Outcome Summary Checklist along with email.
  5. Curriculum Coach comments on the revisions and sends email back to faculty if it is okay or if it needs revision
  6. If needs revisions, faculty makes and sends back to curriculum coach
  7. If  course is ready – curriculum coach sends an email to curriculumservices@westerntc.edu stating it is done

Keys

  • Faculty self-assign as Instructors for preparing syllabi
  • Instructors can only create Syllabi, LPs and PATs on approved courses
  • In a revised course, the course information that appears in the syllabus is determined by the Syllabus Start Date set by the Instructor
  • The Course Outcome Summary is the official document for the course
