Signing Up as Instructor within a Course
NOTE: must do for each course if wishing to write a syllabus
 Search course; open course;
 My Syllabi tab (top center tab)
 EDIT (Rt top)
 ADD
 Click here to add yourself (it automatically adds you)

Creating a Syllabi
Course must be “active”
Must be signed up as instructor
 Open a course; Click my syllabi tab (top)---EDIT (top Rt)—select Add (new) or Clone
(future use); Insert year in title “fall 2014”; Can check box to “share”--SAVE
 Section info---EDIT---fill in all wanted fields; must include start and end dates Can make
revisions for future (click date active)---Save
 Course info---EDIT---set by course outcome summary is read only—add text books, bib
if desired, supplies, grading, guidelines (use guideline library)--SAVE
 Add lesson plans or PAT’s if desired
 Create a schedule if desired

Printing
Course Outcome Summary: click tab on top







Click “quick print” (left tab)
COS : then click “show/hide options” check items you wish to show up when saving or
printing your COS, then hit refresh on top
Course design provides linked items and learning objectives with all COS
Show/hide options: check insert logo image (western’s logo); choose which items you
wish to show…remember to refresh prior to printing or saving
Export: Word, PDF if desired (save on hard drive, export to Bb etc.)
Linked outcome matrix: course/program mapping…can print all linked outcomes to
courses or program

Syllabi: click tab on top



Click “quick print” left tab

Show/hide options to add logo and choose what is included in syllabus…refresh prior to
printing or saving
Export if desired
Print

Requesting Approval or Expiration (deletion):
 Course project management tab (top)
 Management (Lt)
 Request approval (Lt)
Choose:
 “Request approval” (top)—EDIT—check item wishing approval—choose date-SAVE
 “Request expiration” (top): EDIT then check items you wish to expire (delete) and
choose date to expire--Save
