2017 Spring Electromechanical Technology Student SLO Assessment Survey
Electromechanical Technology Spring 2017 Student SLO Report Spring 2017 - Electromechanical Technology July 27th 2017, 11:42 am MDT Q3 - What did you like about this program? I enjoyed the fact that it is very challenging and the fact that for the most part, the instructors seemed knowledgeable about what they were teaching. Plus who doesn't like to build a piece of automated machinery from the ground up! I really liked the teachers I had, very educated, and overall friendly people. Everything was structured very well. I liked the feel of the program in general. There was enough knowledge base as well as hands on to keep a person thinking. The core instructors were excellent, as well as most of the elective instructors. Q4 - What would you change about this program? Nothing The only thing I would change is allowing more time. Obviously this can't be done, but thats all I would change. I would have like to have seen a little more in depth programming aspects. A couple elective instructors whether they were new or not did not have a very good grasp on their teaching style yet so made the class a pain to work in. Q37 - CONCLUSION Please use this space to share any other feedback, comments, or suggestions about your experience at Western Technical College. Being blunt.....XXXXX XXXXX is a great instructor but his attitude can push buttons. XXXXX XXXXX is great once he gets on a level with a person.(he likes to make comments that can offend) when in a professional setting making offensive comments can have backlash..this is where we originally collided as I will not allow my grades to be affected because a person does not like how I came back at him after an offensive comment. We did hash things out as Men and Women should do and came to a mutual understanding XXXXX XXXXX was the perfect instructor for those who like to be slackers. He was new to teaching the semester I had him for Welding for maintenance and someone like myself with a reasonable amount of welding background would be done with a project and set on a back burner to uselessly burn time doing nothing while he helped other students along. I did in turn try to help other students as well but other instructors did not seem keen on another student helping another student where the instructor should be. Other wise no complains, I am sorry this feedback is informal to an extent. I do communicate best this way.
