1. What did you like about this program?
Text Response
I liked interviewing a director to see their view of being a director and learning about the job
directors really have.
I liked all of the projects that we did and the things that we are able to take with us.
I liked that we had the hands on experience of practicum where we got to go out into the field
and practice what we were taught in class.
Hand-On Experience
Hands on experience and materials taken away from the program.
I enjoyed how we got projects that we could take into the field and that this was a small enough
class that we all got to know each other and we all got to be good friends
I enjoyed this program in many ways. I liked that the program was hands on and very visual. I
liked that we got hands on experience and I learned from that. This program was very benificial
to my learning style. The teachers respected everyone and their learning styles. They were
understanding and knew how to help me.
I really liked the hands on approach to the program. I also liked all the student teaching that we
did.
I like that the program is hands on and that we do the student teaching right away instead of
waiting until the end.
I like the hands on experience that we got to do with the children in practicum, and also doing
more hands on projects/ homework rather then having test because it helped me learned the
material better.
I liked the hands on experience that the practicums offered.
All the hands on experience I got. I also like making so many materials to be used in the future.
I love how hands on the program is. The activities that we make we are allowed to take with us.
I also like that we start off with student teaching. Any four year college nearby, have you do
student teaching last. I feel much more prepared and confident than even a Bachelor's degree
student.

2. What would you change about this program?
Text Response
I would change how long this class is and the time we have it. Staying until 6PM isn't ideal. It
could be a two day hour and a half class.
I think I would like to see more of the infant age things. We focus to much on the older children
and not enough of the younger children.
I would change how long the practicum experiences are and make them only half a semster at
one placement and then switch to a different place or just be done instead of being so long.
N/A
Nothing
I would not change much about the program I feel it was a great experience.
I would change the times that the classes are offered, having our two lecture classes at the end
was tough.
I wish there was more discussion of all ages equally. We mainly focused on preschoolers - and I
wanted to focus on infants and toddlers which we only discuss for a semester and that's all.
I wouldnt change anything about this program I think it is great
More opportunitites to see different centers and sites.
The last semester seemed rushed; almost like so much information was crammed into a short
amount of time. I understand with the shorter trimesters, but some things should be rearranged
to not all big projects are due at one time in multiple classes.
I wish there was more about infant/toddler focus. All of the activities we make tend to be geared
towards preschool, besides our one infant/toddler class. I student taught in an infant room and I
felt kind of unprepared to teach there because we don't talk about it much. I did learn a lot
though.

Math science social studies helped a lot with this.
I feel that the program classes need those start up classes before the real thing because what I
learned in those is the backbone of what will be doing in my life.
It is all around us.
We discuss theorists of childcare and use their theories to make lesson plans
Yes from doing labs in math, science, and soical studies and being able to apply that in

Team work and communication
I learned how to think overall. I learned how to speak to others and how to word things that are
respectful for all.
In almost every activity and assignment we were asked to reflect on what we can do better
That you really need to think things through before applying them especually in lesson plans on
steps on how you want it to go because you want to make sure that it goes at well as you want
it to. Even through out the whole program really making sure you think about everything you are
doing through before handing it in.

Great it was good
We discuss many theorists in the program including Piaget, Vygotsky, Erikson, and many more.
I focus on Vygotsky's scaffolding often because it builds off of things children already know using that it empowers them that "they already know this" and can gain attention because it
relates to them.
Yes by observising the child and then from them applying activites that would help them to grow

29. CONCLUSION - Please use this space to share any other
feedback, comments, or suggestions about your experience
at Western Technical College.
Text Response
The last semester classes were too long. They should have been spaced out time wise or
somehow shortened. Half the time we didn't have classes so therefore it should be okay to have
shortened classes. Or have classes that don't go until 6PM
I think that over all it is a good program. I think that there is alot of unnecessary work that
seems to just fill in the time between the big assinments.
My only concern for the Early Childhood Education Program would be to make actual practicum
shorter than making it a full semester of student teaching because it gets to be alot and very
time consuming and for people that are working while going to school it makes it really hard do
both at the same time and I don't think that some Instructors don't think about that.
This program was great
Great Job Teachers!!!!
It is a great school to go to and I am really happy I did. I feel that as a teacher I am really
prepared to go out into the field and concure any class that is given to me.
I feel like I learned a lot here. The must frustrating thing about being here was the enrollment
and financial aid processes (I almost lost my apartment due to waiting for financial aid, I wish
there was avenues more openly available to students who can't wait as long as the financial aid
waiting period is), but in the end I enjoyed what I learned from my professors, I formed some
great relationships, and feel like I can contribute to society as in individual and as an educator.
I had a great experience at western technical college and the program got me ready to go out in
the real word as a teacher and made me realize that I want to do on and conunitue my
education
