I liked all the hands on learning with the labs and clinical rotations. I enjoyed the program. It prepared me well for the clinical rotation. I liked how hand-on it was, that with every concept learned in lecture, there was a lab to accompany it. I liked that there was a lot of hands on training and we gained experience inside and outside of the classroom. The instructors were vary knowledgeable about topics and willing to be flexable with class formats. It was very challenging. So much to learn. 0 Yes Yes Use effective communication skills. Feedback I wouldn't change anything. I would recommend starting the Clinical Microbiology class a few weeks early. This would allow the class material to be completed in a full 16 weeks, rather than the 12 weeks we had to complete the material in. I would add a short course on genetics and reccomend that students take bio chem and A and P before entering the program Too much information in too little time. Lighten up the first semester load by having people complete A & P and Biochemistry before being able to start the core classes. I would have more available lecture time, or allow more lecture time in laboratory so more questions can be asked. I would change that we would meet more times for during the last semester 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Apply mathematical concepts. 9 100.00% 0 0 Really helped with my confidence. We had to take speech and written communication. Yes. I was able to do this prior to entering the program I thought I was better at that when I started the program. Found out I wasn't, but I am now We learned laboratory mathematics There were many mathmatical concepts that were applied to almost every course Yes 0 Yes Yes Yes Monday, September 19, 2011 Western Wisconsin Technical College Page 1 of 3 Outcome Yes No Unk NA Result Feedback Yes Yes Transfer social and natural science theories into practical applications. 9 100.00% 0 0 I love math! This program as certainly given me a different outlook on day to day life and how our environment affects our health We learned how the theories we learned are used in the lab The sequencing of the classes is in a good order. However the program should require A&P and Organic Chemistry before someone enters the rest of the program. 0 Yes Yes Demonstrate ability to think critically. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Use technology effectively. 8 8 88.89% 88.89% 1 11.11% 1 11.11% 0 0 I have more than plenty of prior experience in this area We had to learn how to work together Yes Demonstrate ability to value self and work ethically with others in a diverse population. This was also somthing that I was able to do prior to entering the program, however, I had never applied it in this manner We frequently had case studies to solve. This is an area that I improved greatly on. Somehow, after wrestling down a large chemistry analyzer, my home computer doesn't seem quite so intimidating We learned how to effectively use all the instruments in our proffession. Yes the school provided a mix of both manual and automated test techniques. 0 0 Yes Yes Make decisions that incorporate the importance of sustainability 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Monitor and evaluate quality control in the laboratory Monday, September 19, 2011 9 100.00% 9 100.00% 0 0 0 0 0 0 Continue to show vendor webinars and on-line CEU credit program.
