The instructors were there every step of the way. I also like how many hours we got to spend in the clinical sites. I feel that it really helped in learning about the enviroment that we would be working in after we find a job and also I feel like it helped in teaching me hands on skills. What I liked most about this program is that you get a lot of hands on experience. Usually positive energy from the teachers, they told it like it is! And yes, we need to hear that! I like that this program is very personable. I feel everyday like i walk into a fun learning environment. Everyone becomes like a close knit family and learning comes fun. The program is organized for success and works nicely with how things are timed. This is the first program i have been in where i felt like everyone was there to help me learn. The indtructors really go out of their way to help you with anything you dont understand. There was a lot of hands on learning and had great teachers that were easy to understand and want you to learn. I really like and appreciate the hands on learning throughout the whole program. It helps to make things make sense and strengthen your knowledge of the subject. I think the program was a very tought program to get thru especially when the actualy ST classes started. After getting accomadated to the expectations of the classroom/lab it was easy to pick up and be a part of class activities. My classmates grew close together so it was enjoyable. I have learned so much more than I could have ever imagined in this program. The skills i possess now will be extremely beneficial to me in my career. It was definitely worth it. The progam has helped me get started on my new career path as a surgical tech Learning and training in the field I thought the program was well organized. A lot of information to take in at a time but it can be done. I enjoyed learning from the instructors, they all knew there stuff quite well. Was able to help whenever needed. Took there free time to help sometimes. I appreciate all they have done for us and myself Loved being able to have the hands on experience in lab while being taught the subjects. Having the powerpoints from the teacher made learning the information easier and more focused on what needed to be learned more. I believe that I am well prepared to practice surgical technology in any healthcare setting at an entry level. 0 Yes Monday, November 18, 2013 Feedback Western Wisconsin Technical College More time to embrace all of the information Page 1 of 4 Outcome Yes No Unk NA Result Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Use effective communication skills. 13 100.00% 0 0 Spread subject matter out, help it be less stressful. I think that the core classes could be broken down into different classes when it gets changed to a 2 year program. I feel like it was a lot of informtaion thrown at us with a week to get it into our brains and keep it there (for the first semester of core classes) I think this program is set up in a very efficiant manner. I would, however, have appreciated more clinical hours. Nothing, except now at the end of the program it would be nice to consentrate just on our skills as a tech in our last clinical instead of having to worry about care studys and presentations. In all honesty I dont have something specific in mind, but i have heard that you are making it a 2 year degree and I think that will be awesome because we can go more in depth and have more time to learn things. When in clinical 4 that should be time to focus on procedures and information needed for the next day. I beleive that having assignments in that 4 weeks is not needed so we can focus on what we have learned and finalizing any clarification the night before. When changing the program to a 2yr program I beleive that more generals are not needed, I felt prepared enough with the genrals taken for the program. Some ST should not be allowed to work with students and the teachers have been told about those ST by many students. I feel at times there would be to much information thrown at us students. I felt like I couldnt breath at times because there was so much information that we had to learn and a short peroid of time to learn it. ST labs-I feel slowing the pace down (not rushed) during lab would give students time to absorbed, obtain proper skills from the start. A lot is being taught and labs and practice mocks, with the instruction's is the apprioate time to look at skills. Starting slow while doing it properly- then gain speed as the skills improve. I don't know that I would change anything, I really have enjoyed this program. I would change the summer internship. I'm not understanding the reason why to have it if the student makes the goal for graduation and all the requirments. There is not much to change. It covers a lot of material in a very short period of time. Maybe extending the first 8 weeks, were we had about 3 test a week it seemed like. But other than that everything we did have a reason and was important. I don't really think there is anything that needed to be changed. It's a tough program by it's self and the instructors do there best to help us through it. 0 Yes Yes Yes Monday, November 18, 2013 Feedback Western Wisconsin Technical College email is great Communication is very well amongst the people in my program. Everything is responded to timely. I felt comfortable with my communication skills before I entered the program. Based on what the requirements were for completion, I dopn't agree that there is enough communication education to be efficiant in a high stress environment like the OR.
