Section - General Overview of Program
Instructions Provided To Respondents
We appreciate your feedback, comments and suggestions. The information you provide will strengthen
our program. Thank you.
1. What did you like about this program?
I really enjoyed the small class size. It gave us the ability to really get to know our classmates and build
good relationships. I also enjoyed being able to work on each other and have the hands on learning in the
classroom. (0000000473 Anonymous)
I really liked the thorough anatomical coverage of the body which gave us crucial information for future
practice. I also liked the extensive hands-on experience we gained working on each other as well as the
public during clinic. Our service-learning experience was also a beneficial and informative educational
opportunity. (0000000359 Anonymous)
It was nice to be able to get to know others in the class so well. (0000000472 Anonymous)
Learning new techniquics that you can help your clients with. (0000000474 Anonymous)
The field of Massage Therapy. (0000000471 Anonymous)
2. What would you change about this program?
Certain courses need a better organizational implementation. (0000000359 Anonymous)
Having a different facility with more private rooms when it comes time for clinic. The space we have is nice,
but having clients in the main room area is a bit of a hassle. Also it would be nice to have classes earlier in
the day. It is nice for people that have a full time job during the day to still be able to have class after, but it
takes away time to have a social life. I personally live in the dorms and my day wouldn't start until after
everyone else's is over. It made it really difficult to get to know my roommates better. (0000000473
Anonymous)
I would love to learn hot stone and more aromatherapy. I'm also not sure how I feel about the times that
classes are offered. - The times make it difficult for those of us (which is most of us) who work.
(0000000472 Anonymous)
Instructor getting grades posted faster (0000000474 Anonymous)
Restructuring the program so that big projects aren't explained at the end and expected to be completed
in a short amount of time along with other smaller assignment that we are informed about last minute.
Extremely frustrating! Also still not receiving grades back for projects completed and due for over a 2
month time. I would really like to see these and when asking the instructor she says she will get them to
us the next week but never does. Always comments about posting this to blackboard but then nothing is

posted... Again very frustrated with all this and feel it is disrespectful to make the student do all this work
and not get us our grades! (0000000471 Anonymous)

18. Comments about learning this program outcome.
I feel like I didn't learn anything "new" during the 2nd semester of the program, and would've appreciated
more focus on deep tissue techniques. - Especially how to apply them safely as I found myself getting sore
and tired. The majority of the time that we worked on clients during the 2nd semester, our instructor was
in her office instead of observing our body mechanics. (0000000472 Anonymous)

learned how to drape/pillow someone in a side-lying position and that was it. (0000000472 Anonymous)

Please use this space to share any other feedback, comments, or suggestions about your experience at
Western Technical College.
33. Comments
I loved the science classes and really learned a lot. - Plus, we were always on task and always knew where
we stood. I was bothered by the fact that we were always behind what the syllabus said we were doing
for the core massage classes. - Inevitably this meant that we had a lot dumped on us at once at times, and I
think Jeanne failed to recognize that many of us have busy lives and can't just drop what we are doing to

complete a last-minute assignment without proper and fair notice. (For example, asking us to read a 188
pg book in a week.) We were also never given grades in a timely manner. It is currently the 2nd to last
week of the school year and we still do not have grades from our last 8 week massage class. Because our
instructor spent so much time in her office, I'm not really understanding why grades have not been
entered into Blackboard. She occasionally will make promises that grades will be posted, but never
follows through. I would rather be told that she doesn't have time than lied to. On a positive note, I do
like our instructor on a personal level and I believe that she is a talented massage therapist, I just don't
think she puts teaching as her top priority. I also don't feel like these assessments or end of the semester
instructor evaluations even get read, because these are all the same issues that many of us complained
about the ONE time we were able to do an evaluation first semester, and nothing changed for the better.
Overall I will say that I am grateful WTC offers this program, because there is no way I would ever spend
the money to do this at Globe. I just wish Jeanne was a bit more organized and on top of things. Especially
considering that she has two TA's helping her out! (0000000472 Anonymous)
Jeanie is a good Instructor but needs to be a little more organized and post grades to the students faster.
