The Hands-on work Q4 - What do you think your students would like to see changed in your program? Classes not so late at night Q5 - How many students will graduate from your program this trimester? 7-9 Q7 - How many graduates are able to use effective communication skills? 8 Q8 - Provide any comments you have on effective communication skills taught in this program. It is taught and re-enforced through out the program. The difficulty is with the students that may be shy Q9 - How many graduates are able to apply mathematical concepts? 9 Q10 - Provide any comments you have on the application of mathematical concepts taught in this program. The math used in this program is fairly basic Q11 - How many graduates are able to transfer social and natural science theories into practical applications? 8 Q12 - Provide any comments you have on transferring social and natural science theories into practical applications, and how it is taught in this program. Q13 - How many graduates are able to use critical thinking skills? 8 Q14 - Provide any comments you have on critical thinking skills taught in this program. This is a must skill when working with the human body. Q15 - How many graduates are able to use technology effectively? 9 Q16 - Provide any comments you have on how using technology effectively is taught in this program. Q17 - How many graduates are able to value themselves and work ethically with others in a diverse population? 7 Q18 - Provide any comments you have on how valuing one's self and working ethically with others in a diverse population is taught in this program. This was a difficult skill for members of this class. There were a number of life situations that made that parts of this difficult for some. Q19 - How many graduates are able to make decisions that incorporate the importance of sustainability? 9 Q20 - Provide any comments you have on how incorporating the importance of sustainability in the decisions one makes is taught in this program. Q22 - How many graduates are able to apply appropriate therapeutic massage techniques according to a client's condition/needs? 9 Q23 - Provide any comments you have about teaching this program outcome. Q24 - How many graduates are able to implement knowledge of human anatomy, pathology and kinesiology in the practice of therapeutic massage? 8 Q25 - Provide any comments you have about teaching this program outcome. Q26 - How many graduates are able to apply knowledge of assessment criteria in order to adapt massage to a diverse population? 8 Q27 - Provide any comments you have about teaching this program outcome. Q28 - How many graduates are able to recognize and apply knowledge of contraindications of massage for the client's condition? 8 Q29 - Provide any comments you have about teaching this program outcome. Q30 - How many graduates are able to educate client on post massage care (use of hot/cold, stretching, hydration, etc.)? 8 Q31 - Provide any comments you have about teaching this program outcome. Q32 - How many graduates are able to implement universal health precautions for infection control in the massage environment? 9 Q33 - Provide any comments you have about teaching this program outcome. Students are tested on this throughout. The skill was re-enforced by the instructor anytime the student touched something that could cause cross contamination. i.e , therapist touching own hair and then moving to client's body! Q36 - How many graduates are able to maintain the professional and ethical standards as set by the State of Wisconsin, professional organizations and/or the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork? 9 Q37 - Provide any comments you have about teaching this program outcome. Q39 - Consider this class of graduating students, what was most challenging for the faculty in your program? Keeping the students motivated to continue to learn new material. This was the consensus of all instructors in the program.
