I feel that all the classes cover what you need to know to be a succesful person in our field. I enjoyed the hands on part of the program. As well as the interaction and field trips with companies within the La Crosse area. Hand drafting and learning the CAD software. The instructors and their ability to take a huge field and condense it down to two years of great learning. The program was a well rounded with the knowledge that i am going to need to know in and on the field Learning everything I know now about architecture that I did not know before. 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Monday, September 19, 2011 Feedback Western Wisconsin Technical College To complete this program in two years is hard to do if you want any kind of life outside of school. It should be at least two and half years or classes should be during breaks also. I also think the building techniques class should be required to take with a way to test out of it because of construction experience. More available computers when then first year and second year students are trying to share the same lab to complete assigned work. I would possibly make the Building Techniques class a pre requisite in the first semester that can be tested out of. I feel that some people have more construction experience than others when entering this program and the ones that don't have the experience struggle to see how some elements fit together. I think that the Building course people have an option of taking should be required, but able to test out of it like me i was in the construction field so i know how these things work. For some students it would help a lot becuase they havent had the time to do these things yet coming from highschool. The program curriculum is very good, my only suggestion would be to make the building techniques class available during the first semester. We could use a computer with Revit and SoftPlan in the library. The first and second years students have one room to do work and work on the program Revit. There are not any other classrooms with-in the school that have the programs we need in the classroom or in the library. It became an issue when we were getting into the last part of the semester because we all were trying to get our projects done and there were classes being held and a full room with only a few computers available for us 2nd year students to work. Other programs have an entire floor or wing of the school and I think it would be just as fair if they did the same thing for the Architectural Program. As for any of the other programs because in my opinion the Architectural tech programs needs computers and room just as much as other programs if not more. Have building techniques be required there are some electives that i think are not needed for the program and i would also have enjoyed maybe starting some of the computer programs used earlyer in the program 0 Yes Apply mathematical concepts. Feedback Effective communication skills are very important in every day life. I do feel I have achieved such skills through this program and its requirements. My communication skills have improved significantly, but some of the classes like written comm and technical reporting have been useless to this program. We did many assignments and projects that require a lot of communication. Our Capstone project, which is our final project, being one of them that needs a lot of communication. Yes Demonstrate ability to think critically. 9 100.00% ? Yes Transfer social and natural science theories into practical applications. Building Estimating and Structural analysis are great for incorporating mathematical concepts. oh yeah definitely done in this program I believe the tech math class required is sufficient enough for the architectural program. It is tough, but if you get your homework done right away it is easy to pass. Sitting at a computer 8 hours a day sucks. 0 0 Demonstrate ability to value self and work ethically with others in a diverse population. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Use technology effectively. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Monday, September 19, 2011 Western Wisconsin Technical College Page 2 of 3 Outcome Make decisions that incorporate the importance of sustainability Yes 9 100.00% No 0 Unk 0 NA Result Feedback 0 Yes Apply technical concepts in the design and drafting of a building. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Apply structural principles in the design and drafting of a building. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Estimate the materials required to construct a building. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Develop architectural drawings. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Incorporate MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems into architectural drawings. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 Select appropriate building materials and product specifications to be coordinated with working drawings. 9 100.00% 0 0 0 135 100.00% 0 0 This is something that needs more attention. 0 Aggregate Assessment of Achievement Monday, September 19, 2011 0.00% Western Wisconsin Technical College Page 3 of 3
