1. What did you like about this program?
Text Response
The hands on experience in the shop. I enjoyed the individual paced learning experience.
the manual machining portion was tought very well
Hands on machine shop training.
It help me get more experice and it my favorite career program that i like most. I have learn
many thing about machine and running machine. The best thing is I like working in the shop and
we learn new things every day.
The instruction was good overall. A large amount of material was presented.
Go to run machines
The manual machines and surface grinding course were was clearly explained and was
relatively easy go through.

2. What would you change about this program?
Text Response
This year it felt cramped at times and overloaded, but i know it will bw changing next year once
the program goes into a trimester system. It will give future students a more well rounded
training experience.
i felt this program was very disorganized. we should have covered more material.
More manual machine training.
We should have more teacher in this program because we need them to be with us and tell us
to do thing that we dont know about it. We dont have to wait like 10-15 minutes to get them with
us to fix our program that we write and running the machine.
A large portion of time was devoted to programming. I believe some of this time could have
been better spent on manual machining or actually operating the CNCs. I believe too much
time was devoted to grinding, at the expense of time spent on other subjects. I would suggest
considering whether machine operation and CNC programming could be split into two separate
programs
Would get more machine time in on everything. Make the course longer and get more things
that we need to know in. Run CNC machine a lot more so you get used to run them and how
they are different then a manual machine.
I feel that the time and equipment available in the CNC related courses and lab were not use
as much as they could be. Access to the simulators was very limited which slowed learning and
I believe a better organized course could have set things up to move faster and learn more than
we have.

team work, running machine, write programs, and know about all the machine in the shop. know
how to setup machine and make the machine run succesful.
I believe I entered the program with effective communication skils, so it was not a focus for me
during this program

29. CONCLUSION - Please use this space to share any other
feedback, comments, or suggestions about your experience
at Western Technical College.
Text Response
i feel that i did not get my moneys worth out of this program. i will not recomend this program to
anybody it was poorly tought in the cnc portion of class. i felt that we could of accomplished so
much more.
The CNC program had a lot of assignments that we never got feedback for thus mistakes were
repeatedly made and the learning experience could have been a lot better.Work was rushed at
the end of the semester and teacher/ student conflicts were a distraction in CNC.
This is my first program in Western Technical College. I like like my program and it help me a lot
in the feature.
This program needs to change. The equipment is getting old and they don't have any machine
that you would see a production environment, such as a horizontal mill, tomestone and
moldmaking. The manual machines are okay but they are alittle beat up. The cnc machines are
older, we didn't even use one lathe because there is something wrong with it or the instructor
can't run it. We didn't start using one lathe until the other broke down. One mill hasn't been
turned on all year. The EDM machine kept breaking down contantly and is just a piece of junk.
We have simulators to run programs that you write in graphics to make sure it looks right and
make any changes before you get on the machine. Didn't even use them untill a couple of
student figured it out well the teacher was gone. Then we were banned from then for some
reason. So you had to waste more time at the machine fixing your program. This just wasted
everyones time. The cnc instruction could be alot better.
