Alot of hands on work and help. Learned all major forms of welding the most i liked about this program is the good detailed teaching and mostly the hands on expeirence and i know more now about welding than i ever have. I like that we seem to go over every from of welding. I like that we also go over other thing such as applied math, blue print and blue print drawing. I enjoyed the hands-on learning experiences in the lab. i liked the fabrication class it taught us how to correctly do fabrication projects. I think that this program was very well designed and taught. The teachers really seem to care and are willing to help you learn. It was very well organized and all the teachers were very smart and i learn a lot from them. About the only thing I liked about this program is learning the different process' of welding. I think the program covers everything a person needs to know to begin a career in the welding field. I enjoyed the hands on and learning of the GTAW, GMAW, SMAW welding procceses. I liked all the hands on experience to the program. We were'nt sitting around all the time learning theory but also applying it to material. It was a very useful course. I liked the hands on experience. The teachers were very knowledgable about welding. It was a very educational,I learned a lot from the program. The program does need to be tweeked a bit. I think it would be helpfull to be able to weld on all types of metal 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Tuesday, September 20, 2011 Feedback Western Wisconsin Technical College Nothing less movies, more hands on views I wouldn't change anything, I thought it is a great experience. There is a lot of information to obtain in a year. It wouldn't be a bad idea to make it a longer program. Every process has so many different things that branch off one another. Make the program a two year class so we can learn in depth about every type of welding process. I would change the two classes that seem to be the same. Page 1 of 5 Outcome Yes No Unk NA Result Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Use effective communication skills. 15 100.00% 0 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes 15 100.00% 0 0 Yes i feel the communication skills that I learned has helped me learn how to ask questions about different steps and not be afaird to ask yes for the most part except for John Martins blueprint class. It was basically a teach yourself class. I honestly would have been better just reading the book on my own. Fun so so I think I learned a great deal of useful information in this program. Somewhat. some teachers didb't have books of the welds thay just told us what to do and if he dissapeared for forty minutes you dont know what to do and wasting the students time. good communication skills 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Tuesday, September 20, 2011 It needs to have more weldments in diferent metals such as galvinized metals to have the practical knowlege to be able to weld I would change nothing, I liked this program as it is. i would like to see it a two year program because we could of spend alot more time on some of the littler things and just get more time to learn and try other things. I would maybe change the times or hours of classes. First I would cut down on some of the material handling. I understand we need to know how to properly use equipment but after 3 months or so we should not have to waste tons of time cutting and grinding pieces to weld. In industry welders will not need to make parts very often so I think a little more welding time (less prep) would be benaficial. I would change the start time to a little bit later in the morning and I would change the way that the blueprint reading course is taught and perhaps intergate the mechanical drawing with blueprint and have one teacher that is really good at teaching it. i would change it so u got a full day fab class one day a week, the entire year. More in class with blueprint reading-more in depth and using the book more. there is nothing major i would really change about the program because i like the way it was taught throughout the year. Doing mainly all hands on work and getting us prepard for the working world. If i were to change anything i would maybe add in another fabrication class to build more projects. 0 Yes Apply mathematical concepts. Feedback Western Wisconsin Technical College Effectively applied mathmatical concepts Math teacher did a great job. Learned proper techniques to use shop tools and machines. Proper measurements and squaring. i really like math i'd like to see more of it.. yes. adding and subtracting fractions it seemed easy and went fast. I liked the option of testing out early in math, which I utilized. Learned how to use Shear and Press break using Math-matics Page 2 of 5 Outcome Yes No Unk NA Result Feedback Yes Yes Yes Transfer social and natural science theories into practical applications. 14 93.33% 1 6.67% 0 yes no sure what they are asking This course enlisted theories of operation and troubleshooting in practical welding applications very well. yes 0 Yes Demonstrate ability to think critically. 15 100.00% 0 0 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Demonstrate ability to value self and work ethically with others in a diverse population. 15 100.00% 0 0 alot of thinking was invovled and i liked that alot about the program because you used alot of comman sense and critical thinking towards projects or the welding we were practicing This program helped with the ability to think critically because the Instructors were only in class 50% of the time so we needed to learn figure things out independently without the assistance of our teachers. This program makes you be a judge of your own work, a useful skill in welding. yes problem solving Bending, Cutting and welding material properly for a customer and not ruining everything Learned to think ahead and have an idea of what you want and what your project will look like before you even start. 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes 15 100.00% 0 0 Learned to use the welding machines and set them the right way. Use shop machines and tools the right way. We all learned to use the technology and machinery in the shops to an effective degree. Yes I'm able to use technalogy more efficiently than when I started the program used this to my advantage alot I learned alot about different tools and machinery I had never used before. Yes yes Yes Yes Use technology effectively. yes everything went fine Our group worked well together, and I liked working with them as a whole. yes I learned to make do with what I had, and use materials smartly. 0 Yes Yes Yes Yes Make decisions that incorporate the importance of sustainability Weld in the four basic positions Tuesday, September 20, 2011 14 93.33% 15 100.00% 1 0 6.67% 0 0 0 0 Western Wisconsin Technical College Page 3 of 5 Outcome Yes No Unk NA Result Yes Yes Yes Yes Apply welds using the three major processes (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW) 15 100.00% 0 0 Yes 15 100.00% 0 0 1g, 2g, 3g, 4g learned a lot Flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead.
