Q3 - What did you like about this program?
Hands on --a lot of learning--enthuisactic instructors!!
You learn a lot and can build a house from the ground up after completing this program.
I like how hands-on the whole program is. I like to learn by example and the instructors do a good job of leading
by example. In the classroom the instructors are very good at helping out and answering questions.
It taught me a lot of things I didn't know. I've had experience in the construction industry and I learned a lot that I
didn't know. It went way in debt that I enjoyed a lot and it was just a great overall experience.
I liked how the program is almost all hands-on and that I was able to apply the lessons that I learned to a real life
situation.
working with your hands and your not sitting on your ass all the time I in joy that.
I like that there is so much hands-on in this program. I can't sit around all day in a classroom and this program lets
me go out in the field and do hands-on. I like the instructors for the program because they are laid back, down to
earth, and willing to help out any time.
I liked that the program is hands on and you are expected to do real work, just like you would at a real job.
It was good it taught me everything that i wanted to learn
I really enjoyed the professors brought in contractors from several different companies to come talk to us about
job openings and what the industry is currently. It makes it very reassuring for job placement after graduation.
Hands on experience
Learned a lot, structured very well.
The ability to get hands on experience in a variety of situations with experts on site and ready to help. Bringing in
potential employers and visiting several different job site locations.
The hands on aspect and the way it's organized.
Cabinetmaking and building the house
How well it was set up. learned a ton

Q4 - What would you change about this program?
nothing
Nothing, they have it set up to learn all aspects of building.
There aren't many things that I would change about the program. It's been going really well and there's not much
I have issues with. If I had to change one thing, I would sometimes like to have more time to do school work in
class.
There is not anything I can think of that I would like to change about this program.
I would suggest advertising the summer start for this program because most of my class didn't even know about
the option to start in the summer and end in the spring.
idk
I wouldn't change much about this program. I like the format of it and how they run it.
I don't think there is anything that I could change that would make this program better.
nothing
When there is someone who is clearly not understanding the material, or when someone doesn't belong, don't be
afraid to can their ass
Reduce commercial section of blueprint reading
Nothing
I would like to have had more time for building science and estimating bids.
It's a little fast paced so I would say make it a year long program instead of a 10 month program.
nothing

Q41 - CONCLUSION Please use this space to share any other feedback, comments, or
suggestions about your experience at Western Technical College.
The teachers all know how to do there jobs very well and they are all in the right place for there specialities.
I thought it was a great overall experience where I learned a lot and took a lot out of it.
I highly recommend this program to anyone pursuing a carpentry career or to anyone that just wants to have the
knowledge on how to be more mechanically inclined. The three instructors of the wood techniques program are
very knowledgeable in what they're teaching and have a lot of experience in their trade. The instructors are also
good at putting things into perspective for us to understand and apply it to real-life situations.
Western has a great program going in the Wood Tech department. I wouldn't change anything with how
successful they have been. Thanks
This has been a great program.
If anything, bring in more Contractors and business's. I know that was very helpful for job placement.
I had an amazing experience and every expectation I had was met and exceeded! The instructors are phenomenal
and have an incredible ability to pass on their knowledge.
